Dicta for Mac
Any Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer), 8 GB RAM, macOS 26 or later, and about 600 MB of disk for the on-device models. Fully offline after the one-time model download.
Windows 11
Dicta for Windows
Any ordinary Windows 11 PC, no Copilot+ NPU required. The full on-device pipeline, including the AI rewrite, runs on regular hardware.
iPhone
Dicta for iPhone
iOS 26 or later, installed as a keyboard so you can dictate into any app. Local-first, with the on-device models tuned to fit mobile hardware.

How it will work
Download and open
Grab the signed .dmg, drag Dicta to your Applications folder, and launch it. It lands in your menu bar, ready.
Grant two permissions
Dicta asks for the microphone (to hear you) and accessibility (to type where your cursor is). Two prompts, once. Nothing else.
Hit the hotkey and talk
Press your hotkey in any text field, speak, and clean text lands at your cursor. From here on, everything runs on your device.
