Dicta vs Demodesk: no bot, no per-seat coaching tax
Last verified: 2026-08-21
The short version
Demodesk is the most sales-specialized, and the most expensive, competitor in this category. Its Notetaker bot joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams as a visible, brandable participant, and its AI Coach grades reps against scorecards while an “AI CRM Concierge” pushes call details into Salesforce or HubSpot, all cloud-processed, priced per seat: EUR 25/month just to record, EUR 49/month for the coaching tier most sales teams actually want. Dicta’s answer, in Pro at launch, is the same class of framework-driven summary, 18 built-in templates including MEDDIC, BANT, SPICED, Sandler and DISCO, running on-device with no bot and no coaching surcharge, folded into the same subscription that already covers dictation. Dicta is in preview; the meeting-analysis layer is included in Pro at launch, and this page compares what each product does.

Where Dicta is ahead at launch
Demodesk prices its actual value, the AI Coach, the CRM Concierge, deal insights, behind a second, more expensive tier on top of the base recording price, EUR 25/seat just to capture calls, another EUR 24/seat to get the coaching most sales teams are buying it for. Dicta’s meeting-analysis layer is designed to fold the same class of framework-driven analysis, 18 built-in templates across sales (MEDDIC, BANT, SPICED, Sandler, DISCO), customer success, meeting notes, team rituals, project, hiring and demo, plus a custom-template editor, into the subscription tiers that already exist, with no bot added to the call and a local MCP server instead of a cloud one. Nothing metered, because on-device analysis has no per-call cost to charge for.
Where Demodesk is stronger today
The honest headline: Demodesk’s coaching stack is real, working, sales-team software today, its scorecards, CRM field automation and deal-insight reporting go well beyond anything Dicta’s meeting layer targets, let alone has shipped. Dicta’s on-device version is included in Pro at launch. If you need call coaching, automatic CRM updates, or a dialer-integrated recording pipeline today, Demodesk does that now and Dicta does not, and likely never will at the same depth; Dicta is not building a sales-coaching product. Demodesk also has iOS and Android apps, 18 dialer integrations, Outreach and Salesloft support, and Enterprise-tier SSO that a local-first, single-user app has no reason to build.
