No card, no account. Paid unlocks the AI layer on top: the rewrite, per-app styles, Select and Speak, file transcription, and the local MCP server.
Which languages does Dicta understand?
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Hungarian, Greek, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Russian, and Ukrainian, 25 in total. Detection is automatic per utterance, so there is no language setting to flip. German and English are the pair we tune and benchmark hardest.
What does Pro add over Free?
Pro is where the AI lives. It adds the always-on on-device rewrite that removes filler and tidies structure, five per-app writing styles, Select and Speak, file and YouTube transcription, your full custom vocabulary, and a local MCP server so Claude or Cursor can read your dictations and meetings, localhost-only. One license covers every device you use. Pro is EUR 4/month or EUR 40/year, and every bit of it runs on your Mac.
Is there a student discount?
Yes. Verified students get 50% off Pro: EUR 2/month or EUR 20/year. You confirm your student status at checkout, and the app is identical to Pro.
Can I pay once instead of subscribing?
Yes. The Lifetime pass is EUR 120, one payment, Dicta forever, every future update included. We can offer it honestly because your words never touch our servers, so there is nothing for us to keep paying for.
What does Team add?
Team is everything in Pro plus an admin portal and seat management: invite and remove members, manage licences, keep billing in one place, and publish centralized dictionaries and rules so shared vocabulary and replacements reach every seat, without anyone's dictations ever leaving their device. It is EUR 60 per user per year, annual only.
What is Dicta Meetings?
Dicta Meetings is local meeting transcription and AI notes, fully on-device. It is included with Pro and Team, and with Enterprise too, at no extra cost. It ships after the core dictation launch. Nothing about a meeting leaves the machine it was recorded on.
What is Enterprise for?
Enterprise is coming soon; it launches after the core tiers. It is for regulated and public-sector buyers who need more than a licence: SSO/SAML, a signed DPA/AVV, an air-gapped model kit for machines with no internet, full feature control so admins decide who can use which features, Meetings included, and support for public-sector procurement. How many devices does one license cover?
One license covers your devices, everywhere you type. Activations are platform-agnostic under a fair-use device cap per seat, so from launch the one license follows you across Mac, Windows and the iPhone keyboard.
Is Dicta really cheaper than the alternatives?
Pro is about half the price of the leading alternatives, the AI rewrite is included and local, and nothing is metered. We do not print their prices here because they change and because ours is the point: on-device inference costs us nothing per word, so we do not have to charge you like it does.
